Platform Overview
How the Varolio platform is built, deployed, and secured
Varolio Platform
Varolio is an AI-powered communication and case-management platform. It connects to your communication channels (Outlook, Gmail, WhatsApp, meetings via the Varolio Notetaker), turns conversations into structured cases, and automates the follow-up work with LLM-based workflows.
This section documents how the platform is built and operated: its application architecture, the deployment scenarios we support, how data flows through the system, and the security controls applied at every layer.
Where to start
- Application Architecture — the services, data stores, and AI providers that make up the platform
- Deployment Scenarios — Cloud SaaS, Dedicated Cloud, BYO Data Store, and Cloud-Prem
- Data Flow — what data enters and leaves the platform, and where it is stored
- Security — encryption, tenant isolation, edge protection, and operator access
Deployment scenarios at a glance
Varolio runs the same software in every deployment model — what changes is where the components live and who owns the surrounding cloud account.
| Scenario | One-liner |
|---|---|
| Cloud SaaS | Multi-tenant, operated by Varolio, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt) |
| Dedicated Cloud | Single-tenant environment in a dedicated AWS account, in a region you choose |
| BYO Data Store | You host the data stores (search index, LLM, object storage); Varolio connects to them |
| Cloud-Prem | The entire platform runs inside your own cloud account — AWS, GCP, or Azure |
